OOM: Phantom Planet

It's a pissed off female halfa that steps through the Milliways entrance to Amity Park.

Her world is in danger. Her city is in danger (although, technically, she lives in Milliways). Her friends are in danger. Her family is in danger. Danny is being an idiot, and is in danger.

And they think she's going to stay behind in Milliways while all of this is going on?

Obviously, they don't know Dani Phantom too well, do they?

The gold MAYOR'S MANSION sign on the front gate is a tip-off, too.

"It doesn't look like an evil lair."

"He's not like a virus, Enzo. The tacky sign aside, Vlad's all about being subtle. If he doesn't want you to know about something, you won't know about it. Not until he wants you to, or unless you're really good at being sneaky."

Enzo nods. He sounds more like a Trojan Horse, in fact. Minus the shapeshifting.

As they phase through the wall, he stares. The hall they've entered is elegantly decorated, lined with dozens of bookshelves and even more works of art—all of which depict the same goateed, ponytailed man.

"Oh, yeah. Real subtle."

She rolls her eyes, fighting the urge to blast every single picture in the place.

"Did I mention he's completely in love with himself?"

"Gosh, how can you tell?"

There's a little bust of Vlad every few feet. It's kind of creepy.

It is, very creepy. Which is why, a couple minutes later, one bust blows apart after being hit with an ectoplasmic blast.

"Would you believe me if I said its eyes were following me?" she asks.

Enzo just grins at her, and zaps a bust himself. Plaster explodes in a very satisfactory manner.

"Oops. Guess I don't have these powers under control yet."

She grins in response.

"I guess we have time for a little target practice..."

[a1enzo]

"Just a few," he agrees, and lets rip.

Plaster heads explode on impact, marble and bronze are knocked down and half-melted, and Enzo joys in the opportunity to do what he's longed to for more than a year, even in effigy. Everything that made him want to be a Guardian, and all his love for Dani, mix together, bubble to the surface, and erupt as purple fire.

And you can trust that Dani is getting as much enjoyment out of this as Enzo is.

All of those busts, each representation of the man who created her, claimed to be her father, builds up Dani's anger more and more. He's the reason she had to go on the run in the first place, the reason she's living in Milliways instead of with Danny and Jazz as a proper family. He lied to her, manipulated her. For each bust that melts or explodes, Dani feels a deep sense of satisfaction.

Enzo has, possibly, gone into a kind of fugue state. He's almost forgotten why they came here in the first place, and is focused solely on trashing Vlad, over and over.

(Although he might be sparing a bit of brain to gawk at Dani. Dang, she's hot.)

(And Dani just might be sparing a bit of brain to show off for him).

Still firing away, Dani hits one of the gold busts with a glancing blow, shearing off the top half of the head and revealing a red button labeld "PUSH".

Dani's jaw drops. "...you've gotta be kidding..."

*facepalm*

"That's either gotta be the portal, or it'll make the house self-destruct."

[ami_imperfect]

"Portal. Vlad's not that stupid." A crazed, whacked-out fruit loop sure, but not stupid.

Bracing herself (just in case it is a self-destruct button), Dani walks up and pushes it.

The painting on the nearby wall shudders before splitting apart and pulling open, revealing the portal they've been seeking.

"Major!" Oooooh, swirly...

He grins at Dani, still panting a little, and offers her his hand.

[ami_imperfect]

Dani smiles at Enzo and takes his hand in hers.

"Let's do this."

And with that she flies into the portal, pulling Enzo along with her.
