There's a wide grin on Dani's face as she and Enzo - both in ghost mode and both invisible - pass through her door and into Amity Park.

(There's also a flock of butterflies loose in her stomach, but we won't talk about them)

"Well, here we are!" she exclaims quietly. "Welcome to Amity Park!"

"Dude!" Enzo whispers. "It's all... square. And grey. Where're all the plants and things?"

Other than the wheeled cars passing on the street, it doesn't look too different from some parts of home so far. Except for the textures. Nothing here is smooth.

"We're in downtown Amity Park," Dani whispers back. "There are more buildings and business down here than plants. Come on."

She tugs on his hand and gently pulls him down the sidewalk, in the direction of the park, still invisible. There aren't any clocks around, but better not to take the chance of anyone seeing them if school is still in session.

Enzo lets himself be towed as he tries simultaneously to maintain his invisibility (he's still not fully used to these powers) and to get all his gawking out of the way now. He'll have to play it nonchalant once he's visible.

All the colours (such as there are in this area) are slightly muted. Everything feels different, both because it's different and because he is. He's acutely aware of warm and cold—Dani's hand is currently cooler than it was in human form earlier. He squeezes it and rubs his thumb against the back of her hand, feeling the increased friction from his own thumbprint.

Dani smiles as she feels Enzo's thumb rubbing the back of her hand, even as her cheeks burn as she blushes. At least she's invisible, so he can't see it.

Finally they reach the park. It's starting to fill with kids; school must have let out a few minutes ago, so it's safe for them to go visible. Even so Dani makes sure that they're hiding behind enough cover before turning visible again, then reverting to her human form.

(Funny how you only ever need cover on one side, isn't it?)

Enzo follows suit, and feels them both warm abruptly.

"Hey, why's the whole town called Amity Park if this part's the park?" he asks.

Dani opens her mouth to respond...

...then closes it, and screws up her face in thought.

"Y'know? I honestly have no idea. Maybe we could ask Danny."

Enzo grins. "Okay. We doing that first, or the clothes?"

As requested, his transformation included an ordinary sweatshirt and jeans, since a military jumpsuit might get some looks. That, however, is only one outfit.

"Danny first; we need money first before we go shopping."

"You do," he says smugly. Yay for rich sisters!

Dani takes the high and totally mature road, and responds by sticking her tongue out at Enzo.

"Plus, depending on how much we buy, we might need his help carrying some of the stuff."

Translation: they need Danny to play pack mule.

Enzo grins, seeing no problems with this plan.

"I'll need enough for... how often do Users wash their clothes?"

She blinks. "I dunno," she confesses. "I think it depends on how many people are in the house, how much there is to wash... We can ask Danny."

Vlad just did a lot of dry cleaning.

"Okay!" Seems like they're going to have a lot to ask him. (Why is the sky blue? Where do babies... no, wait, they've covered that one.)

Lead on!

Dani takes Enzo's hand again, and the two of them walk out of the park and in the direction of the Fenton homestead.

As they walk Dani plays the part of tour guide, pointing out and identifying various places, people and miscellaneous items to Enzo. However, anything related to Vlad merely gets glared at by the female halfa before she ignores it.

Soon the two of them are standing in front of FentonWorks. "And this is FentonWorks, headquarters for Jack and Maddie's ghost hunting business and Danny's house."

She pauses.

"We're probably gonna have to go ghost and sneak in."

Enzo has never seen anyone so angry at so many businesses. He may ask later.

But now, for FentonWorks. "Dude!" He stares up at the ops center. "It looks like it oughta fall over!"

Dani giggles. "I know, right?"

"But the lab and the portal are in the basement, right? And... they live in the house part?"

'Cause with Jack and Maddie, you never know.

"Right." Dani nods. Maybe he'll get to see the portal too, if Jack and Maddie aren't home.

Checking to see if the coast is clear, Dani goes ghost again. "Shall we?" she asks.

"You bet!" he says, following.

Although now he's gonna be wondering just what's in the top part. Wait'll he finds out the answer is 'ham'.

Placing a finger to her lips in a gesture of silence, Dani turned invisible and then took Enzo's hand before phasing through the wall into the building.

Ordinary sofas, ordinary chairs, a few knick-knacks... The mun doesn't know what adjective Enzo would be thinking of since she's not sure if 'retro-futuristic' has an antonym, but so far the main difference he's seeing between here and either home or Milliways is one of style.

Doesn't matter. No one about on this floor. No noises from upstairs, either. From downstairs, though, there's some banging, a crash, and some raised voices, with Jack audibly declaring that "it's supposed to do that!"

Even though he can't see it, Enzo can be sure that Dani is facepalming.

Yup, this is her family, for better or worse.

And she can't see his grin, but she can surely hear it when he whispers, "So, you're gonna live here, huh?"

"Eventually, yeah," she whispers back.

Pretty soon the duo should find themselves on the second floor, standing outside of Danny's room. At the moment, no one's occupying it.

"So, how do you want to do this?" Dani asks, remembering how she had first surprised Danny by sitting on his bed and reading his comic books when he walked in.

And they certainly would surprise him just by being there, but...

"Well, if we're gonna haunt him, we oughta stay invisible or, like, jump out of something... Ooh, I got one!"

Letting go of her hand, he phases through the bed, ducks down, and then stands back up. It's easier to phase the sheet with him than it is to turn tangible just the part of him that's above the mattress, and it doesn't make a difference to its appearance: either way, there's a not-so-spooky bedsheet ghost rising from the surface of the bed, making silly "WoooOOOOoooo..." noises.
