It's a pissed off female halfa that steps through the Milliways entrance to Amity Park.

Her world is in danger. Her city is in danger (although, technically, she lives in Milliways). Her friends are in danger. Her family is in danger. Danny is being an idiot, and is in danger.

And they think she's going to stay behind in Milliways while all of this is going on?

Obviously, they don't know Dani Phantom too well, do they?

Best way out of a Big Crushing Mom-Hug™: hug her back and trust that she will release when you do. The newsies take their opportunity to snap plenty of photos. Joy.

"And, um... while we're on the subject of life-altering revelations..."

His eyes flick to the ghost-girl in the crowd. He raises his eyebrows again, and cocks his head in a 'c'mere' gesture.

Enzo squeezes Dani's hand again, then releases it.

This is her show, if she wants it.

Dani shoots what she hopes is a brave smile at Enzo. He'll be introduced soon enough, but at the moment she feels she has the right to be selfish.

Taking a deep breath, she walks up and stands beside Danny.

"Heyyyy, you have a sidekick? Good job, you've copied the look and everything!" He peers critically at her outfit. "That's not really a jumpsuit, though, is it?"

Jack may be thinking "sidekick", but Maddie's Mom Intuition^TM is sending her a different message.

"Danny," she says in as even a tone as possible "is there something else you want to tell us?"

Danny rolls his eyes at his father and looks grateful at his mother. "Yeah, there is. This one's... a little complicated. See, Vlad's... I mean, he was my archnemesis. But he wanted me on his side."

"He wanted all of us," Jazz interrupts. "You know he was kind of... obsessedwithMom... anyway, he tried to adopt me, once, too. It seems to me he was jealous of anything to do with Mom, and he thought the family was part of the package."

[amity_npc]

"Really? I thought it was 'cause he's a total nutjob." He turns back to his parents. "Anyway, he kept trying to get me to be his son, or his sidekick, or his minion or whatever. You know, 'join me and we can rule the galaxy as fruit loop and stooge.'" He snorts. "I told him to bite me."

"He didn't...hurt you, did he Danny?"

The tone of her voice suggests that, if Vlad weren't currently floating somewhere in space, it would probably be in his very best interests to be running for his life right now.

Danny rolls his eyes. "Gosh, let's see. He knocked me out the night before your reunion thing... set those ghost-animals on me that time in Colorado, offered those million dollars for my capture, that whole business with the Ghost King... I said he was my archnemesis, Mom."

"Anyway, moving on," Dani hints, trying not to sound too aggravated.

[amity_npc]

"Right, sorry... Yeah. So I guess he finally got the hint that I wasn't going over to the Dark Side. But there was still that whole... family thing that Jazz said. So that's when he got ultra-creepy and decided to clone me."

[passthefudge]

"He WHAT?!"

"He WHAT?!?"

"Yeah."

And Dani reverts to human herself. And waves.

"Hi. I'm Danielle, but you can call me 'Dani'. With an 'i'."

[amity_npc]

"He didn't get it quite right," Danny notes. Gee, no kidding.

At the ghost-girl's transformation, the media contingent, who have been diligently scribbling everything they could overhear, surge forward again, snapping pictures and blurting questions.

"Hey!" Tucker shouts. "They're kind of having a moment here! Save it for the press conference!"

The press corps back off, a bit sullenly. Tucker blinks. They actually listened to him! He could get used to this.

Maddie shoots a Look of her own at the paparazzi press before turning back to her family.

Now that Dani is in human form, her resemblance to Danny is even more obvious. "It's...nice to meet you, Danielle," Maddie greets her - daughter? Granddaughter? - still trying to get over the shock.

Grandclone? Or would that be the clone of a clone?

"Uh... yeah!" Jack looks her over, fascinated. "Danielle, huh? Man, and those guys in Scotland got all excited over some sheep."

You gotta hand it to the guy, he bounces back quickly.

"Dad..."

"Uh...yeah," Dani kinda agrees. Wait until they find out the rest of it, though.

Is anybody else besides her feeling re-eally awkward?

[bringnewjokes]

No, but Sam's feeling something else.

"I hate to interrupt," she says, shivering "but do you think maybe we could take this inside? I mean, we're at the freaking South Pole, people."

[passthefudge]

"Right! Sorry," says Jack sheepishly. "Insulated jumpsuits. C'mon, let's hit the cafeteria. They're doing fajitas!"

[fryertuck]

"C'mon!" Tucker shouts, waving his arms at the crowd. "Step aside! Global saviors comin' through!" The circle opens up, and they head inside.

There are, indeed, fajitas, and Danny declares a moratorium on explanations until he's finished his first helping. There is also a huge cake decorated like a world map, with "THANK YOU!" in big icing letters.
