OOM: Amity Park Visit Day

Pushing a sweater out of the way, Dani walks through her closet/door to Milliways and into her bedroom. She stops and looks over her shoulder behind her.

"You coming?"

"Hold on, I have to get my suitcase through your clothes..."

Enzo emerges like a Narnian émigré and looks around to see what she's done with her room.

It looks quite different than it did when Jazz occupied it (not that Enzo ever saw what the room looked like when it was Jazz's).

The bed that used to be Jazz's bears a lavender, white and green-squared comforter and, in a departure from its usual state, is actually made today. In one corner of the room is a reading chair, occupied by Dani's Guardian Bear. A few feet from that is her desk, evidence from last night's homework still on it. The bookshelf is still there, but there aren't as many books on it; instead there's about an even book-to-photograph ratio going on.

"You fixed it up nice," Enzo comments, towing his suitcase over to look at the photos.

"Thanks." Redecorating the room had gone a long way to help Dani not feel so much like she was invading Jazz's space. "Jazz helped a bit, when she was home."

"Really? Did she still sleep in here while you were doing it?"

Casper High School

With fifteen minutes before the official start of the school day, there are many students milling around outside the school trying to delay going in as long as possible.

Enzo's likely to stick out a little, due to the way he's looking around curiously at everything. And, of course, due to who he's with. Otherwise, he blends in quite well; he may be the youngest there by two years, but you wouldn't necessarily know it at a glance.

The building is your basic brick box; the most distinctive part is the front stairs, but it is, in general, very unexciting to look at. Truth in advertising, possibly.

Dani can't hide a grin as she watches Enzo look around in curiosity.

"So, how's it compare to the Academy?" she asks her boyfriend a little cheekily, while being careful not to be too specific about where he goes to school.

He smirks at her. "Well, there's more variety in the clothes."

"Hey, Danielle!" calls a freshman. "Who's your friend?"

"Dude, that's her boyfriend!" says someone else. "He was on the news with her, remember?"

Casper High - Homeroom

Most of the students have drifted toward their respective homerooms; there are a few stragglers in the hallway. Lancer stands outside of his classroom making sure that there are no pre-class shenanigans.

Enzo looks the out-of-shape teacher up and down. "Wow, you're just as bald as they said you must be Mr. Lancer."

Lancer arches an eyebrow before looking over at Dani. "Danielle, who is this?"

Danielle looks at Lancer as innocently as possible.

"This is my boyfriend, Enzo Gardner. I told you he was coming to visit me this weekend. Remember, you made me fill out all those forms...?"

"Oh, yes. The one from that interesting news feature." He eyeballs Enzo suspiciously, then continues in a deliberately cheerful voice, "Delighted to have you, Enzo. I'm sure you'll have a fun and educational day here, and won't get into any trouble."

He gives Dani a meaningful look.

Casper High - between classes

"...so different here, it's hard to process," Enzo is saying as they leave History class.

Dani chuckles a little as she walks beside, but slightly ahead of Enzo on the way to her next class.

"Not quite what you were expecting?" she asks.

"Not sure what I was expecting. In... my world, sys... er, countries don't usually have wars with each other, we've got other things to fight. Here, it's almost the whole textbook."

"Yeah," she agrees, her expression and tone turning glum. There's a lot of fighting in her world, and sadly it's not all between ghosts or against supervillains.

Fortunately, this depressing topic is fended off by a couple of acne-speckled sophomore boys.

"Hey! Dani's Boyfriend! Are you really from another dimension?"

Enzo sighs in relief as he exits the stall and heads for the sinks.

Dash Baxter is leaning against one with exaggerated casualness.

"Hiya, Enzo," he says, managing somehow to inject sarcasm into the name. "How's it going?"

Enzo tenses when he sees him, but tries to keep his face and voice unconcerned.

"Pretty good, Dash," he says, trying to step around him to another sink. "It's been cool meeting Dani's friends."
